Launch Party Report
June 1, 2009 3 Comments
On Friday 29th May we had a launch party for “Willow Pattern Songs” at the Kings Head Theatre Pub in Islington. Thanks to everyone who came along, and thanks to Proper Songs who organised the whole deal.
We ate homemade Chinese egg custard tarts (courtesy of Mei Yau) and even had a cake made in our honour (courtesy of an unnamed bakery):

And this is what the Hong Kong In The 60s DJ set looked like:
- Orange Juice – Rip It Up
- Yao Su Rong – 愛情如水向東流
- Crispy and Company – Brazil
- Serge Gainsbourg – Sea, Sex and Sun
- Peter Howell & the BBC Radiophonic Workshop – The Astronauts
- Frank Zappa – Peaches En Regalia
- Kraftwerk – Computer Love
- Lucia Hwong – Tian Mi Mi
- Sly & The Family Stone – Runnin’ Away
- Leon Ware – Why I Came To California
- The Colourfield – Thinking Of You
- Jacqueline Taïeb – Petite Fille Amour
- Ennio Morricone – Come Maddalena (1978 disco version)
- Belbury Poly – The New Mobility
- Can – I Want More
- Sisters of Transistors – The Bells of Moscow
- Nina Simone – Ain’t Got No, I Got Life
- Stelios Kazantzidis – Efyge Efyge

We all had a lovely time. I’d forgotten how fun it is to DJ.
As of today, our debut EP “Willow Pattern Songs” is available to download from all the usual mp3 stores. Shop around for the best price! A limited CD version is available from Rough Trade and a few other places.
